Within Birtley House Nursing Home we can accommodate and provide full 24-hour nursing care for up to 47 people. This is through a variation of Nursing Home rooms, and a series of fourteen unique apartments which offer a truly wonderful living option, and are very cost effective for those who know they require long term care.

Whether you are looking for long term care needs or simply a respite stay recovering from a post-operative care, our nursing home rooms have all the amenities and most importantly accessibility needed at all times.
Welcoming Nursing Home Rooms
Traditional Nursing Home rooms are available on a rental basis for stays from as little as one week. Our rooms are categorised into ratings of Standard, Premium and Deluxe. These ratings are determined by the size of the room and the views that look out over our stunning 48-acre estate. Nearly all of our rooms have an ensuite W.C. and basin, and a handful have an ensuite wet-room.

The West Wing Concept Explained...
For those that choose to move in with long-term care in mind, the option to purchase an apartment becomes available. A new home to call your own, where you can receive full nursing care 24-hours a day.
Each apartment is unique in its footprint, and in the design phase we worked to embrace as many original house features as possible including Victorian fireplaces, beautiful coving, large bay windows and tall ceilings. Some are dual aspect and suitable for couples, all of which come with wet-room facilities. In most, the views are exceptional with maximised window space to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
The apartments are sold on a ‘debenture’ basis which allows the occupier to personalise as they wish. Debentures range from circa £275,000 to just over £500,000, and, at the end of the notice being served on the apartment, and providing it has re-sold onto the next occupant, the amount is then refunded to the debenture holder. The initial Capital Investment required is determined by the size and position within Birtley House.
Monthly care fees are required throughout occupancy but they come with the advantage of considerable reductions for apartment occupants. The fees are substantially less than the cost of a Nursing Home room for a month, and as an example based on a Deluxe room and medium dependency care level, you would SAVE an average of £2,400 per month, or circa £29,000 per year.
